Welcome to our website

Since September 2011 seven schools from six European countries (Greece, Hungary, ItalyPolandSpainThe UK) have been working on the common project titled Music and dance colour our lives.

Pupils are not always aware that they have many things in common with their peers who live in other countries. Music is something which brings people closer and allows them to feel the unity in diversity. The idea of this project is to to present the contributions of music to the human life and to facilitate understanding of different cultures through music and dance.

In this international project each partner is to fulfil the same tasks which are integrated into the learning activities and curriculum of the participating schools. Our pupils will research their traditional songs and folk dances and perform them during the final concert.

The main aims of the project are to:

  • facilitate opportunities for children to learn about their own cultural values and the local, regional, national, international music and               dance cultures of others in a creative and enjoyable way and develop their musical perception and information.
  • develop the pupils’ and teachers’ ICT skills – e-mailing each other, using search engines, preparing PowerPoint presentations, designing logos…etc.
  • enable the development of multi language skills, giving students and teachers the opportunity to develop knowledge, self confidence, and to increase social and communication skills, via the establishment of a website, use of msn, blogs, e-mails, web-cams and organizing and preparing exhibitions and face to face meetings.
  • celebrate and experience firsthand the richness of diversity, enabling the children to experience life beyond their immediate community, giving a wider knowledge and understanding of the world.
  • encourage teachers to improve their pedagogical skills – good communication between the partners via telephone, internet and also during the meetings.
